A Guide to Teaching Biodiversity in Middle School Science

This curriculum both teaches what we mean by biodiversity and why it is important.  It also helps teachers guide students as they study Kentucky’s very unique and rich biodiversity.  This guide contains activities based on the standards from Middle School Science.

Activities to Use with Enviroscape Models

Enviroscape models are small table top models of water sheds.  They are an excellent and highly visual way to teach such concepts as the water cycle, runoff pollution, erosion, and systems interactions.  These activities are specifically designed to be used with the models but can also be used alone to teach concepts related to water.  Enviroscape models are available all over the state and can be borrowed free of charge.  Click here for a list of Enviroscapes and where you can borrow one.
